Red Oak boys win season opener on links

The Red Oak boys golf team opened its season with a 199-231 victory over Heartland Christian in a dual meet at Whispering Woods Golf Course in Council Bluffs on Thursday.
Red Oak swept the top two medal winners spots. Weston Couse shot a 45 to win top individual honors and teammate Wyatt Roberts carded a 49 for runner-up honors.
James McDonald added a 51, Dylan Reynolds a 54, Brayton Adams a 59 and Caden Sallach a 60 to complete the Tigers’ scoring.
“It was great to start this season off with a win,” said coach Bob Boeye. “I know the boys will use this as a boost for the rest of the season.”
Red Oak is back in action Thursday with a Hawkeye 10 Conference dual at Glenwood.
