Griswold blanks Boyer Valley

Bedford scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to get by Stanton 8-4 in Corner Conference softball Friday.
Charlotte Shafar, Macy Musich and Eliza Johnson each drove in runs for Bedford.
Musich picked up the win in the circle after allowing six hits and two earned runs while striking out two.
Bree Mitchell took the loss in the circle, giving up eight hits and five earned runs while going 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored.

Griswold 16,
Boyer Valley 0
Ailey Wahler homered and drove in four runs for Griswold in a 16-0 win over Boyer Valley in non-conference softball Thursday.
Daphna Wahlert and Courtney Follman had two hits and drove in two runs each for  the Tigers.      
Sadie Gohlinghorst struck out six and allowed a single hit in the three inning victory.

Stanton 17,
East Mills 1
Stanton jumped out to a 9-0 lead after an inning and cruised to a 17-1 win over East Mills in Corner Conference softball last Thursday.
Bree Mitchell led the way for the Viqueens with a grand slam while driving in five runs on the night. Kiela Franzen added two hits and an RBI and Quinn McDonald, Lilly Ford, Kyla Hart, Riley Burke, Janae Schwery and Cooper Stephens each added hits.
Franzen was credited with the win after not allowing  a hit and striking out four in the four-inning victory.

Griswold 8,
Nodaway Valley 0
Ailey Wahlert went 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in three runs and picked up the win in the circle in Griswold’s 8-0 win over Nodaway Valley last Wednesday.
Keeley Kinney homered and doubled and drove in a run to lead the Tigers. Marissa Askeland added two hits and drove in a run and Abby Gohlinghorst added two hits and drove in a run.

East Union 9.
Stanton 5
Kayli Shade and Tristin Lear each smacked home runs for East Union in a 9-5 win over Stanton in non-conference softball last Wednesday.
Lear picked up pitching victory after allowing seven hits and one earned runs to go with five strikeouts.
Bree Mitchell went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs while taking the loss in the circle. Lilly Ford tripled and drove in a run and Kyla Hart, Victoria McFarland and Kiela Franzen each added hits.  
Mitchell scattered seven hits and struck out six to take the loss in the circle for the Viqueens.
    
Griswold 16,
Stanton 0
Courtney Follman had three hits and Griswold improved to 4-0 on the season with a 16-0 win over Stanton last Monday in Corner Conference softball.
Follman doubled, tripled and homered while driving in three runs in the win.
The Tigers’ Sadie Gohlinghorst tossed four innings, scattered two hits and struck out three to earn the win.
Griswold was helped by seven Stanton fielding errors that led to nine unearned runs.
Quinn McDonald and Kiela Franzen had one hit each to lead Stanton.
Bree Mitchell took the loss in the circle, allowing 11 hits and seven earned runs while fanning two.
 

BASEBALL

GRISWOLD 4,
FREMONT-MILLS 3
Bode Wyman drove in two runs at the plate and tossed a complete  game on the mound for Griswold in a 4-3 win over Fremont-Mills in Corner Conference baseball Friday.
Wyman struck out eight, scattered eight hits and walked just one in the win.
Calden Turner and Cavyn Turned both singled and drove in runs for Griswold.
Landon Baker took the loss for Fremont-Mills after allowing five hits and one earned run while fanning eight.
Rhett Lemonds, Boden Zimmerman and Sam Sanchez each had two hits for Fremont-Mills.

Bedford 10,
Stanton 0
Bedford rode a five run first inning to a 10-0 victory over Stanton in Corner Conference baseball Friday.
Brody King and Ashton Nally had two hits each and Tom Rogers drove in two runs to lead the Bulldogs at the plate.
King picked up the win on the mound, allowing two hits and no earned runs while striking out six.
Tristan Ellwood took the loss after allowing three hits and six earned runs.
Jayden Burke and Ellwood each singled for Stanton.

ACGC 13,
Griswold 1
Blaize Dorsey scattered four hits and allowed just one earned run in a 13-1 ACGC victory over Griswold in non-conference baseball Thursday.
Dorsey struck out four and walked two in the complete-game win.
Chase Slaubaugh, Ben Franzeen and Jackson Pfrang had two hits each. Nosh Kading and Pfrang each drove in four runs.
Brayden Lockwood took the loss on the hill for the Tigers. The junior allowed seven hits and two earned runs while striking out two.
Bode Wyman, Calden Turner, Kolbe Klindt and Wyatt Silk each notched hits for Griswold.

East Mills 8,
Stanton 2
East Mills rallied for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning in an 8-2 win over Stanton in Corner Conference baseball Thursday.
Sheldon Vanderberg and Cooper Hagen had two hits each to lead the Wolverines.
Ryan Sayers picked up the win, allowing two hits and two runs with two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Gavin Ford took the loss for Stanton. The senior scattered three hits and two earned runs in 4 2/3 innings.
Tristan Ellwood, Owen Marsh and Ford each notched hits for the Vikings.

Nodaway Valley 7,
Griswold 2
Remington Woosley scattered two hits and struck out five and went 2-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs in a 7-2 win over Griswold in non-conference baseball last Wednesday.
Paul Berg had two hits and drove in three runs for Nodaway Valley.
Kolbe Klindt took the loss on the hill for Griswold after allowing two hits and four earned runs while striking out four.
Wyatt Silk doubled and scored a run for the Tigers.

Zane Johnson homered and drove in two runs for Griswold in an 8-5 win over Stanton in Corner Conference baseball last Monday.
Johnson was 2-for-4 at the plate and scored three runs. Calden Turner added two hits and drove in a run.
Nollan Smith tossed 4 1/3 innings and allowed four hits and struck out six in the win.
Tristan Elwood had a home run and Jacob Martin, Devon Taylor and Max Yeager each added hits.
Gavin Ford took the loss on the hill after allowing three hits and four earned runs in 3 1/3 innings.
