Blanton’s hit lifts Wolverines to win

Isabella Blanton’s single in the bottom of the seventh was the game-winner for East Mills in a 16-15 win over Essex in Corner Conference baseball Friday.
Rilee Vasquez and Gwen Blanton had two hits each to lead East Mills. Isabella Blanton’s game-winner was her lone hit of the game.
Lauren Brown went the distance in the circle for the win. The eighth grader scattered nine hits and eight earned runs with four strikeouts.
Mariska Kirchert took the loss for Essex after allowing four hits and four earned runs.
Alia Valdez and Paitlyn Vanatta had three hits to lead the Trojanettes at the plate.

East Mills 0
ASHTW scored 15 runs in a big second inning rally to knock off East Mills 17-0 in nonconference softball last Wednesday.
Brooke Jones took the loss for the Wolverines after surrendering four hits and seven earned runs.
Gwen Blanton and Emma Vasquez had a hit each for East Mills.

Lenox scored nine runs in the third inning on its way to an 11-0 win over East Mills in nonconference softball last Monday.
Reese Reed went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in a run and picked up the win in the circle. Reed struck out six and scattered three hits in the victory.
Lauren Brown took the loss for the Wolverines scattering seven hits and seven earned runs.
Izzy Blanton, Kate Ripperger and Gwen Blanton had one hit each for East Mills.
