Griswold finishes second at Clarinda

CLARINDA — The Griswold Tigers girls cross country team finished second at the cross country meet in Clarinda.

Freshman Rebekah Topham took first place overall for the Lady Tigers, finishing with a time of 15:41, nearly a minute faster than her closest competitor.

Jordyn Sindt had a top 10 finish for Griswold, placing seventh with a time of 17:54.

Larissa Backhaus gave the Lady Tigers a top 20 finish when she took 18th with a time of 18:29.

Griswold finished nine points behind the first place team of Shenandoah.

Alyx Flippin, another freshman for Griswold, finished just outside the top 20, claiming 22nd with a time of 18:55.

Bailey Powers and Allison Young both finished in 26th and 30th, respectively.

For boys varsity, Xavier Olivo was the top finisher for Griswold, placing 16th.

Griswold boys cross country finished eighth out of nine teams competing, with a score of 246 points.
