Griswold falls to Tri-Center at home

GRISWOLD—The Griswold Tigers girls’ basketball team lost their third straight game last Tuesday night to Tri-Center, 52-19.

Both teams struggled to score early in the first quarter, but the Trojans went on a 8-0 run to take the lead. Tri-Center led at the end of the first, 12-3.
Both defenses played tough in the second quarter, as Griswold and Tri-Center scored a combined 16 points.
Through presses, the Trojans got the better end of the deal and led 22-9 at halftime.
Tri-Center’s defense kept the pressure going in the third quarter, as the Tigers scored two points The Trojans led 38-11 at that point.
In the fourth quarter, the Tigers were once again held to single-digit points.
Jordyn Sindt led Griswold in scoring with seven points.
Cassidy Legg and Lauren Moore scored a combined eight points for the Tigers.
Brittany Elwood and Marquel Brunk each recorded two points.
For Tri-Center, they were led in scoring by Beth Sieleman, who finished with 20 points.
Emily Baatz added 12 points and Mallory Christiansen scored 10.
With the loss, Griswold is now 2-6 for the season and 0-4 in the conference.
For Tri-Center, they’re now 5-2. Their win over the Tigers was their fifth straight.
The Tigers will be back in action Jan. 6 when they head to Malvern to take on East Mills.
