Grand Grant
The Red Oak Grand Theatre is one of multiple Southwest Iowa organizations sharing in $4 million in funding from the Iowa West Foundation.
Iowa West recently approved requests from 22 nonprofit organizations and government entities in Southwest Iowa and Nebraska.
The Grand Theatre will receive $90,000 towards phase two of their theatre addition project.
Red Oak Grant Theatre Board President Shelley Bergren said they are very pleased to receive the grant.
“We are very excited about our grant. The Iowa West Grant is a great help towards this project’s completion,” Bergren said.
Bergren added the funds will put a sizeable dent in the total cost of phase two of the renovation project.
“We are working on plans and specifications for completing the second screen building. The total project cost is about $850,000,” Bergren advised.
According to Bergren, it is grants like those from the Iowa West Foundation, and donor support, that will bring the project to fruition. “Receiving grants and donations are imperative to the project. We will also be starting a capital campaign to raise further funding for the renovations very soon,” said Bergren.
