Frances Tucker Johnson, 96

Frances Tucker Johnson, 96, of Red Oak, died Oct. 24, 2009, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.

Frances Irene Tucker Johnson, the daughter of Frank and Esther (Mitchel) Perkins, was born Oct. 4, 1913, in Garfield Township of Montgomery County. Frances was raised on the family farm near Red Oak. She attended school in Red Oak and graduated from Red Oak High School with the class of 1932. Following graduation, Frances worked at Connor’s, Inc. On Nov. 8, 1945, Frances married Raymond H. Tucker at her home near Red Oak. For 33 years, Frances and Raymond made their home on their farm west of Coburg. In 1977, they moved into Red Oak. Frances later married Clarence Johnson on Oct. 13, 1993. Frances was a member of First United Methodist Church, UMW, Guild Group and Happy Hour Club. She served as Treasurer of the Salem Cemetery Association for 20 years.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband’s Raymond Tucker and Clarence Johnson; and brothers: Ray and Russell Perkins.

Frances is survived by her nephew: Gordon (Joan) Perkins of Red Oak; two great-nieces: Elaine (John) Hollen of Red Oak; Denise (Jerry) Leibold of Clarksville; two great-great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and one great-great-great niece.

Funeral Service will be Oct. 27 at 10:30 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak with Rev. Fred Pilicki officiating. Visitation will precede the funeral service on Tuesday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m.
