Field set for Red Oak special election
RED OAK — Four people are running in the upcoming special election for an at-large seat on the Red Oak City Council.
With no filings in the last week before Friday’s noon deadline, the four candidates for the position are John Haidsiak, Fred Pilecki, Roger Waggener and Russell Williams.
The special election will take place Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Gold Fair Building from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.
The at-large seat was previously held by Mark Gregg, who resigned in November after the municipal election.
Waggener, Haidsiak and Williams all ran in that municipal election. Waggener was seeking another term as Ward One Council Member, serving in that capacity for more than 20 years. He was defeated by Scott Keith.
Whomever is elected will serve the remainder of Gregg’s term, which expires Dec. 31.
