Fatality accident in Mills County on Highway 34

 Two vehicles collided on Highway 34 near mile marker 15 around 5:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, resulting in the death of Johny Ford, 76, of Maryville.

According to the crash report from the Iowa State Patrol, Ford was driving a 2018 Ford Prius when for unknown reasons he crossed over into the westbound lane. Ford’s vehicle collided with a 2008 Infinity Q56 operated by Michael Vasquez, 48, of Malvern.

Ford was pronounced dead on the scene. LifeNet transported Vasquez to Nebraska Medicine with critical injuries.
