Fake $5, $20 bills floated in Red Oak

Red Oak businesses were warned to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills.

Late last week and over the weekend, the Red Oak Chamber of Commerce was contacted by a local bank concerning counterfeit $20 and $5 bills it received through a deposit from a local business.

The $20 bill looked like it had been washed in a washing machine. When it was held up to the light, there was not a bar code on the left hand side, and when it was marked, it turned brown.
