Ernst starting Iowa tour in Red Oak Jan. 7

RED OAK - Red Oak’s U.S. Senator, Joni Ernst, will be launching her 2016 99-county tour of Iowa in the courthouse where her political career began.
Ernst (R-Iowa) will host a town meeting in the courthouse Thursday, Jan. 7, starting at 8 a.m.
The event is open to the public.
Ernst was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014 in the midst of her second term in the Iowa Senate.
She was first elected to office in 2004 as the Montgomery County Auditor, a position she held until she won a special election in 2011 to serve the remaining year on Kim Reynolds’ Senate term. She was re-elected to the Iowa Senate in 2012.
Ernst recently retired from the Iowa National Guard with the rank of Lt. Colonel.
