End of the track for Tigers

 

DES MOINES — The Red Oak Tigers were represented by two individual and two relay teams at the State Track and Field Meet last week.
Josh Kasubick and Lauren Fellers raced in the boys’ and girls’ 2A 400-meter dash, and they also anchored their 4x400-relay teams.
Kasubick’s ran his fourth-slowest time in the individual 400 (51.91 seconds), finishing 13th in the state.
He joined Colin Streicher, Matt Soe, and Caleb Flowers on the 4x400 relay team which finished with a time of 3:35.33 in 23rd place.
On the girls’ side, Lauren Fellers ran the 400-meter dash in 1:01.97, finishing 15th overall.
Her relay team of Josie Snyder, Kelsey Allison, and Ingvild Skorpen finished 19th of the 24 teams to compete.
Kasubick, Flowers, Fellers, Allison, and Skorpen ran their last race for Red Oak, as they are all graduating seniors.
Streicher (a junior) and Soe (a sophomore) will return next year, hoping to improve on this season’s success.

Snyder was the youngest of the group, running at the state level as a freshman.
