EM’s Schafer tops 5k yards
East Mills senior quarterback Michael Schafer passed for over 5,000 career yards in the Sept. 27 game against Stanton/Essex and was honored following the game. Since then, he has added 550 passing yards, totaling 5,636 in his prep career, before post season. With the win over Sidney on Friday, the East Mills football team’s RPI was high enough to earn an at-large spot in the playoffs. The 7-2 Wolverines travel to Remsen to take on St. Mary Remsen on Friday, Nov. 1, for first round action. “[Remsen] has a very talented QB who can run and pass equally well,” East Mills co-head coach Kevin Schafer said. “We are going to have to have our best defensive game of the season. Offensively, we are a passing team and will have to be efficient regardless of the weather.”
