Donald L. Campbell, 83

Donald L. Campbell, 83, Woodburn, Ore., formerly of Red Oak, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013.

Don was born March 27, 1929, in Villisca, the son of the late Albert and Ruth Campbell of Red Oak. He grew up in Red Oak until he joined the United States Air Force, which became his career, retiring in 1973. Don never really retired as he also served as Chief of Police for the Plattsmouth Police Department until leaving there in 1978 and taking a position at First Data Resources as an investigator for credit card fraud until 1993. Donald enjoyed spending time with friends and family, watching sports, working outside; and golfing.  

He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ramona Forsgren Campbell.  

Survivors include Donald’s sister, Eldora McClintock of Red Oak; two son, Donald Alan Campbell (Barbara) of Essex and Dennis Campbell (Lori) of Oregon City, Ore.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nephews; and a special friend, Joy Rosenquist of Council Bluffs.

Burial with military honors was at Willamette National Cemetery on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, with arrangements being made by Cornwell Colonial Chapel of Woodburn.
