Dollar General employee arrested, charged with theft

RED OAK – A Dollar General employee was arrested last week for allegedly stealing from his employer. 

According to the Red Oak police department, Jason Vrabel, 45, stole about $380 in cash and merchandise from the store between Sept. 1-Sept. 23. 

A criminal complaint filed in district court states Vrabel was seen on video taking the cash and merchandise while working at the store located on Commerce Drive in Red Oak. 

Vrabel is scheduled to appear Sept. 24 for a preliminary hearing on a charge of theft in the fourth degree, a serious misdemeanor. 

After his arrest, he was processed and release from the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center on a $1,000 bond.
