Darwin A. Graham, 79

Darwin A. Graham, 79, of Red Oak, died on Feb. 1, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Care Center after an extended illness. Darwin Alfred Graham was born Sept. 27, 1929, near Malvern, the son of Earl and Gladys (Hatfield) Graham. He attended school at the Wales Lincoln School where he enjoyed playing basketball and other sports. Darwin was united in marriage to Bonnie Colvin in 1955 and to this union were born two daughters, Candy and Becky. He later was united in marriage to Jean Huntington. Darwin was a carpenter and worked for Vannausdle Construction for many years and never really retired. Darwin was also a former member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Jim Graham. Survivors include his wife, Jean of Red Oak; daughters, Candy (Russ) Hopping of Oakland and Becky (Jim) Robertson of Pacific Junction; step-children: Tim (Barb) Huntington of Apache Junction, Ariz., Dave (Kathy) Huntington of Plattsmouth, Neb., Linda (Gus) Zaka of Corona, Calif. and Ted (Linda) Huntington of Red Oak; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one sister, Aline Echternach of Red Oak. Memorial services were held on Feb. 6, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Elizabeth Dilley officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
