Cub Scout Bridging ceremony held Dec. 20

SHENANDOAH – Four local Cub Scouts recently “graduated” from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.   The bridging ceremony was held Dec. 20 during the monthly Pack meeting at the First Methodist church.  

The four boys who crossed over are: Nathan Mock, Jake Sherman, Austin Perrin and Brock Mattice.   All four boys had attained the Arrow of Light.  This is the highest award a Cub Scout can receive.  It is the only award that is also worn on the Boy Scout uniform. Austin, Jake and Nathan also have the distinguished honor of earning all 20 of the Webelos activity badges.   The 20 badges earned were in the areas of Outdoor skills, Mental skills, Physical skills, Technology and Community.

Troop 218 built a rope bridge for the boys to climb up on and cross.  This bridge represented their trail from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.  They were greeted at the end of their crossing by members of Troop 218.
