Corning Opera House to host grand re-opening June 11

The Corning Opera House is having a grand re-opening of tours, food and a ventriloquist on Friday, June 11.

The evening starts with drinks, hors d’oeuvres and self-guided tours at 5:30 pm. The conference room and auditorium will be decorated in a variety of ways to showcase the various ways people and organizations can rent the facility, such as graduation, wedding, and business meetings.

The licensed kitchen will be open for viewing for those interested in using it for their food preparation. Volunteers will be throughout the building to provide information. At 7 pm ventriloquist, Marc Rubben, will present his Night of the Living Dummies, a fantastic kaleidoscope of funniness. There will be an abundance of satire, comedy and audience participation with Marc’s feisty world class PG-13 ventriloquist friends as they tickle your funny bone and amaze you.

This is a crowd-pleasing show with ‘Reggie’ the Jamaican Rasta-Mon; ‘Nash’ the long-haired hippy; “Cletus’, the Redneck and other hilarious characters that allow Rubben to utilize his amazing improvisational skills.

Rubben has appeared on dozens of national television shows such as: Accidentally Famous; HBO Aspen Comedy Festival; Comedy Central and Showtime. He performed regularly as a special guest on Carnival Cruise Lines, also. In 2020 he received the Best Actor in the award winning Indie Film “Silent Partner”.

After the show there will be door prizes, and attendees must be present to win, with a grand prize of tickets to all 2021 shows. The evening is all free will donation.
