Iowa State Univeristy

 

At Iowa State University’s spring commencement ceremonies in Ames, 4,595 students received degrees. 

Iowa State awarded 3,818 undergraduate degrees, 496 master’s degrees, 141 veterinary medicine degrees and 140 doctor of philosophy degrees.

Of the students receiving bachelor’s degrees, 1,141 graduated “With Distinction” (cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude). A total of 106 students graduated as members of the Honors Program. 

Local graduates were:

• Emerson: Effie Armstrong, Bachelor of Science, Genetics (AGLS), Cum Laude, and Bachelor of Science, Microbiology, Cum Laude.

• Henderson: Samantha Keast, Bachelor of Science, Psychology, Summa Cum Laude.

• Malvern: Ian Baer, Bachelor of Science, Chemical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude. Makayla McGrew, Bachelor of Science, Animal Ecology, and Bachelor of Science, Animal Ecology

• Red Oak: Blaine Johnson, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medicine. Alex Whigham, Master of Science, Human Computer Interaction.

• Stanton: Andrew Cerven, Bachelor of Science, Agricultural Business. Christine Mainquist-Whigham, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Magna Cum Laude, and Master of Science, Veterinary Preventive Medicine.

• Villisca: Marshall Dolch, Bachelor of Science, Agricultural and Life Sciences Education.


 

Northwest Missouri State University

 

Northwest Missouri State University announced its spring graduates. Those from the area earning degrees from the school in Maryville, Mo., included:

• Emerson: Hollie Jane Platt, B.S.Ed, elementary education.

• Griswold: Joshua Ryan Bierbaum, B.S., agricultural science; Rachel Nicole Denne, B.S.Ed, elementary education.

• Red Oak: Jared Alexander Larson, B.S., psychology.

• Stanton: Dakkota Skye Druivenga, B.S.Ed, elementary education and special education – cross categorical.
