Clive James Leonard Poole , 62

Clive James Leonard Poole , 62 , died o n Feb. 6, 2009, at Wesley A c r e s. Jim was born in Leon, on Nov. 19, 1946, the beloved son of Ellsworth (Dick) and Betty Poole. He earned both a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Northwest Missouri State University and did additional graduate work at Iowa State University and Drake University. He married Vicky Parson, his high school sweetheart, and began studies at Drake University. He began a lifetime career devoted to education. He was a math teacher and a school administrator for 31 years, dedicating his life to the education of students. He retired in 2001 due to complications of diabetes. Jim’s life is survived by his mother, Betty; his wife Vicky; and his children, Jodi (Matt) Bybee of Ankeny and James (Meredith) of Urbandale; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to Dollars for Scholars at Valley High School. A visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 9 at Faith Lutheran Church, 10395 University Ave, Clive. A memorial service followed at 7 p.m. A private burial at Leon Cemetery will be held on Feb. 10.
