Children, 7 and 8, arrested for damaging RV with an ax
Two Red Oak children were arrested Monday afternoon for allegedly causing more than $10,000 in damage to two vehicles with an ax.
The 7- and 8-year-old boys were arrested on charges of criminal mischief, burglary and trespassing after police responded to a report a juvenile male had climbed a fence and entered a property located in the 600 block of North 5th Street.
According to a press release, upon investigation officers found that the two suspects climbed the fence and broke into a motor home. They then used an axe to cause about $10,500 in damage to the RV and an antique 1948 Mack Fire Truck located nearby.
After the arrest, the boys were released to the custody of their parents.
