Calligraphy artist work coming to Arts Center

In addition to a wonderful week with our Arts Mid West WorldFest event, Tarim Song & Dance Ensemble, the Wilson Performing Arts Center will be featuring the art of James Bond in the lobby art gallery.

This artwork is a very unique experience of Chinese Calligraphy. Spending time in Asia in the mid-1990s fueled James’ passion for Chinese Calligraphy.  His works have been acclaimed by critics for their unique style, which blend metallic, color and calligraphy into compositions that are dramatic and visually stimulating works of art.

James was born and raised on the East Coast, the son of Milton Bond, a world renowned glass artist. James followed in his father’s footsteps painting professionally with his works being sold in galleries since the age of 11.

There will be open house on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 6:30 p.m., in the lobby of the Wilson Performing Arts Center. This will be an opportunity to meet with the artist and learn about his craft. At 7:30 that same evening will be the final performance of Tarim Song & Dance Ensemble. For more information please call the Wilson Performing Arts Center at 712-623-3135.
