Becky Bailey, 83
Becky Bailey, 83, of Villisca, passed away Feb. 23, 2012, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Beulah J. Bailey was born to Simon William Haley and Helen Viola (Ruth) Haley April 3, 1928, in Adams County near Carbon. Becky attended school in Nodaway.
She had a daughter, Patricia Haley Victor, with her first husband. She made her home in Nodaway and also in Red Oak until Jan. 1, 1960, when she married Frank L. Bailey in Nodaway. Together they moved to a farm north of Villisca and were blessed with one daughter, Mary.
Becky was employed at the Union Carbide plant in Red Oak for 10 years, then spent 28 years as a proof-reader for the Clarinda Company. She retired in 1994.
She was an active member of the Villisca Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women Auxiliary. She served as a church Deacon for several years and sang in the choir from 1964 to 2011. Becky was also an active member of VFW Auxiliary.
Becky enjoyed her cats and dogs while on the farm.
She moved to Villisca in 2009 because her ailing health wouldn’t let her mow her acre lawn.
Becky loved to travel and was always ready to go.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1996; her brother, Floyd Haley; niece, Linda Vias; and nephew, Larry Haley.
Becky is survived by her daughters, Patricia (William) Victor and Mary (Darryl) Kuzemko, both of Villisca; two grandchildren, Dylan Kuzemko and Bailey Kuzemko; brother, Mike (Marjory) Haley, of Exira; sister-in-law, Virginia Haley, of Villisca; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services took place Monday, Feb. 27, at the Villisca Presbyterian Church with burial in the Villisca Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Villisca Presbyterian Church Choir. Wolfe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
