Arsenic and Old Lace starts at Wilson this weekend

RED OAK— “Arsenic and Old Lace” will begin its first of several showing starting this weekend at the Wilson Performing Arts Center.

Meet the eccentric Brewster family of Brooklyn. There are the charming, innocent, scheming ladies who poison their victims with elderberry wine, their brother Teddy, who suffers delusions he is Theodore Roosevelt, and their nephew Mortimer who discovers a body under the window seat.

The elderly women ‘fess up to their deeds matter-of-factly and head swiftly to a comical surprise ending. Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic, ready-made comedy hit.

This is Southwest Iowa Community Theatre at its best featuring the talents of Martha and Don Jackson from Tabor, Faye Brandstetter from Red Oak, John Olson from Shenandoah, Amber & Nathaniel Adkins from Griswold, Alan Moore from Red Oak, Jeff DeYoung from Glenwood, Bob Keefer from Clarinda, Diana Crouch from Silver City, Ken Whitacre from Glenwood and Paul Griffen from Red Oak.

This production will hit the stage Sept. 29-30, and Oct. 6-7.

Tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for students.
