AIB College of Business welcomes visitors to campus

AIB College of Business in Des Moines is inviting prospective students and their families to visit the college at the Court Reporting Technology Day, Friday, Jan. 27.

Visitors will get hands-on experience using traditional stenographic machines and learn how to generate television-style captions using their voice, a microphone and a laptop.

“The demand for court reporters and captioners is high and is expected to increase,” said Professor Deb DuBuc. “The U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Outlook Handbook for 2010-11 indicates job prospects are 'excellent,' and U.S. News and World Reports rank Court Reporting as one of its top 50 careers.”
