REDee^OAK — The Montgomery County 4-H held its annual awards event Nov. 2 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds auditorium.
Awards presented were:
• SW Area swine and beef — Jared Gillespie.
• 4-H Club Community Service Award — Sherman Overalls.
• Most Improved Club Award — Lincoln Hustlers.
• Educational Program—East Sunrisers.
• Leader awards — Becky Dolch and John Wenstrand for five years; Jenny Green and Mark Palmquist, 10 years; and Barb Allen, Mary Carlson and Laurie Peterson, 15 years.
• I Dare You Leadership Awards — Lisa Vanderhoof, Shelby Marsden and Joel Herzberg.
• Citizen Washington Focus recognition — Jackie Carlson, Becca Hossle, and Teresa Sampers
• Senior Achievement Award — Lisa Vanderhoof and Natasha Kernen
• Senior Agriculture Award — Joel Herzberg and Nicole Fisher.
• Senior AKSARBEN Award — Lisa Vanderhoof
• Senior Danforth Award — Shelby Marsden and Jared Gillespie.
• Senior Livestock Achievement Award — Jared Gillespie, Nicole Fisher and Joel Herzberg.
• Senior Citizenship Award — Lisa Vanderhoof and Nicole Fisher.
• Senior Leadership Award — Joel Herzberg and Lisa Vanderhoof.

• 2008 Outstanding 4-H ee^Leaders — Curtis Woods and Phil Gohlinghorst.
• Montgomery County 4-H Alumni awards — Jim Herzberg and Mike and Kent Marsden.
• Montgomery County 4-H Honorary Awards — Red Oak Do It Center, United Farmers Mercantile Cooperative and Don Linquist.
• The Montgomery County 4-H Hall of Fame Award for a graduating senior — Christine Mainquist.
• Gold club awards for the past year — Sherman Overalls, East Sunrisers and Grant Spitfires.
• Iowa 4-H Compound Archery Team — Zach McCarthy.
• Iowa Archery competition — Zach McCarthy, Matthew Hanson and Dalton Larson for qualifying for the 2009 national competition representing Iowa 4-H.
