3 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Accura Healthcare of Stanton

 Accura HealthCare of Stanton can confirm that three residents have tested positive for COVID-19.  Our healthcare staff is working closely with the Iowa Department of Public Health to protect the well-being of all residents and staff.  We are doing everything we can to ensure the virus does not spread within our facility.

Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our residents, tenants, employees, and their families.  We have been in communication with staff, residents, and families, updating them on these positive cases and will continue to provide updates with any new developments and any additional mitigation actions we may take.

Here are just a few of the actions we have taken.

·       We are proceeding with testing all residents in the facility

·       We have reviewed and updated our infection prevention and control plans and our emergency communication plan. We have implemented our emergency preparedness COVID-19 plan.

·       We are following the same infection prevention procedures used during flu season: handwashing, using alcohol-based hand sanitizers, covering coughs, and disinfecting the environment.

·       We are disinfecting high traffic areas every 30 minutes.

·       All staff are wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

·       We are not permitting visitors, including family members, contractors, and volunteers for the time being. Loved ones can communicate with residents by using video chat, calling, texting, or checking in on social media.

·       We have collected family emergency contact information and emails, so we can continue to keep them informed should there be any new developments.

We take the responsibility of protecting our residents and families very seriously and pray for an end of this pandemic and its harmful impact on our communities. We are extremely grateful for our amazing employees who are heroes in delivering care on the frontlines of this pandemic.
