1A Girls Regionals Bracket

DES MOINES — The 1A Regional Girls' Basketball bracket was released last week.

Most of the area 1A teams will be competing in Region 8. The first round for Region 8 kicks off Feb. 9.

Stanton will be home for their first round game, which will be against East Mills. Villisca will also be home when they play Nishnabotna.

Both Stanton and Villisca have the benefit of home court advantage for the first two rounds of Regionals.

Essex will have the benefit of a first round home game when they play Corning.

Other first round games include Sidney/Fremont-Mills, Walnut/Riverside, A-H-S-T/Heartland Christian, Boyer Valley/West Harrison and Ar-We-Va/Woodbine.

The quarterfinals will take place Feb. 14, with the sites being Stanton, Villisca, Avoca and Westside. The semifinal games will take place Feb. 17 at Red Oak and Harlan. The Regional Final will be Feb. 20 at Underwood.
